Stormwater BMP Technical Assistance & Grant Writing

NEW ENGLAND

Infiltration BMPs in a parking lot in Ogunquit, Maine

FBE staff are available to provide technical assistance to landowners, municipalities, nonprofits, and other organizations to evaluate stormwater management and recommend installation of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs). We provide full project management services, and are able to assist with design, permitting, pollutant load reduction modeling, and maintenance plans. Our projects range from small-scale lakefront stormwater and erosion control measures such as shoreline plantings, rain gardens, and infiltration steps, to larger urban and road practices such as ditch improvements, culvert replacements, and engineered bioinfiltration practices. All projects aim to mitigate nonpoint source pollution and reduce sediment, nutrient, and pollutant loads in our waterbodies. We also frequently assist with stormwater management and erosion control outreach such as presenting at or organizing public workshops and creating physical and digital educational materials for distribution.

Our staff also includes many talented grant writers that are available to help our clients apply for the planning or implementation funding they need to support stormwater projects. Programs we have successfully applied to include EPA Section 319 and 604b Grants, Clean Water State Revolving Funds in Maine and New Hampshire, Maine Community Action Grants, and many others.
