WATERSHED MANAGEMENT PLANS
NEW ENGLAND

Geospatial services are tightly integrated into our Watershed Management Plan (WMP) development process, being involved in nearly every aspect of the project. Geographic information services (GIS) are used extensively to locate important sites throughout a watershed (erosion sites, opportunities for stormwater management, and water quality monitoring stations), visually display relevant environmental data on a series of maps, and to prepare data layers necessary for completing water quality, pollutant loading, and land use models. Complex geospatial analyses used in WMPs include creating and updating land cover data files, modeling watershed and subwatershed boundaries, approximating intermittent streams, and buildout analyses. Maps are a major form of communicating the unique characteristics of each watershed, and FBE takes great pride in producing easily understandable, accessible, and visually appealing map products in our WMPs.
