Limnologist & Senior Project Manager
Amalia joined FBE in 2025 bringing over ten years of experience in ecosystem ecology and watershed science. Her background is rooted in federal research, where she developed expertise in managing and understanding complex aquatic systems across scales. Amalia specializes in limnology, with core technical areas that include assessing and mitigating harmful algal blooms, analyzing nutrient cycling, and leveraging geographic information systems (GIS) and spatial statistics to drive informed environmental decision-making. She has extensive field and research experience spanning lakes, rivers, streams, and wetlands. Amalia earned a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Arizona State University. She is committed to integrating rigorous scientific understanding with practical project management to achieve sustainable solutions for clients.
