SHORELINE IMPROVEMENT & STABILIZATION

MAINE & NEW HAMPSHIRE

Spofford Lake shoreline stabilization

FBE has collaborated with numerous towns in Maine and New Hampshire on projects funded by EPA Section 319 Grants under the Clean Water Act. Section 319 projects focus on improving water quality by mitigating nonpoint sources of pollution, ensuring sustainable environmental management and compliance with regulatory standards. Examples of work eligible for this funding include design and installation of erosion control measures as well as public outreach. FBE also prepares federal, state, and local permit applications associated with the installation of these management practices.

FBE has assisted with numerous Section 319-funded projects aimed at protecting waterbodies throughout Maine, such as Long Pond in Parsonsfield, Watchic Lake in Standish, Topsham Fair Mall Stream in Topsham, and Ogunquit River in Ogunquit. New Hampshire-based waterbodies where FBE has conducted Section 319 projects include Spofford Lake in Chesterfield, Parsons Creek in Rye, and Pleasant Lake in Deerfield/ Northwood.
